The 10th Anniversary Diamond Guild of Australia Awards took place in Sydney mid-October with leading representatives of the Australian jewellery industry coming together to celebrate excellence, innovation and inspiration in what was a truly glittering affair at the Museum of Contemporary Art.
Mondial Pink Diamond Atelier entered into two of the seven internationally recognised Award categories; in the Solitaire Category we entered the ‘Continuum’ ring and in the Fancy Colour Category we entered the audacious ‘Calla’ ring. Earlier this month when the finalists were announced we were delighted that both our pieces had made it.
At the end of August the panel of high profile judges, including Fashion doyenne Carla Zampatti and CEO of Good Design Australia Brandon Gien, gathered to judge entries from all over Australia. Each piece of jewellery was examined in detail and awarded scores on the basis of uniqueness, innovation, quality of workmanship, market appeal and design relevance. At the end of that process the finalists were determined and from those finalists Mondial ‘Continuum’ was announced as the 2015 Winner of the coveted Diamond Guild of Australia Award in the Solitaire Category.
Designed and created by Mondial’s Master Jeweller Robert Opat, ‘Continuum’ symbolises the smooth, deliberate and continuous energy, which comes from the Earth encapsulated in the infinity symbol. Entirely crafted by hand in 18ct Platinum/Palladium white gold, ‘Continuum’ features a round brilliant cut diamond of the finest quality.
